The phrase mind over matter has been something that has enveloped my thoughts as of late; why? I do not really know, but when I ponder the phrase's meaning it helps me focus on my work out. Fitness is a huge part of my life, mainly because I used to be the size of the house and have since changed extraordinarily; diet and exercise have become a constant in order to maintain my 105 lb weight loss. Well I used to be 105 lighter now I have gained 35 lbs, I like to think that all 35 lbs are muscle. In fact I was trying to do a triathlon last summer but I inured my ankle so running has been a most painful experience for a while now.
Recently I have embarked on a major life change! In my life change I have decided to alter my body, attitude, revaluate my friendships, and the different activities that I take part in as well. My goal date is my 21st birthday which is August 3rd of this year. (Mark your calendars!) When I say goal date I don't mean that I am unhappy with myself but rather I know that I can be better, this date is when I want to achieve a total reform!
Feeling like one can always better themselves, I believe, is a good attitude. Meaning that one is always striving to accomplish something greater, people have not reached their accomplishments today being idle homebodies, rather people get out into the world and work to create their lives. Why doesn't everyone have this idea or philosophy? I am definitely slothful at times but when I am, guilt overwhelms me, though I may not always be motivated by said guilt.
Everyone should set goals for their lives! Even if you never accomplish them don't be down on yourself but rather keep striving to attain your goals. That is my soap box, thanks for listening.
